Nothing is legible on either end of the bat, although perfectly placed on the barrel is Lou Gehrig’s timeless and characteristic inscription and signature in black fountain ink: “To Bill - May I always prove worthy of your friendship. Cordially, Lou Gehrig.” Signature and inscription grade “8” out of a possible 10.
