This is the first time we've seen one of these eye-catching displays actually signed by Mantle. They were used in bookstores when "The Mick" was published in May 1985 and apparently this one was propped on an easel before being taken down for Mantle to sign, which he did with a particularly large, bold stroke across the image of him swinging from the heels, possibly propelling one of his 536 homers over the wall. The signature can't be rated anything but MT, one of Mantle's best. The 13 x 15" image on heavy paper stock is matted and framed to 22 x 25" under glass. A sturdy, stately and gorgeous vintage specimen of the Mantle lore and legacy.
