Two vintage broadsides promoting upcoming games for the Indianapolis Clowns, the team Hank Aaron would begin with. The first light green broadside dates from the 40s and measures approximately 21 x 14". It promotes a twilight doubleheader between the Clowns and the Chicago American Giants of the Negro American League at Victory Field in Indianapolis, May 30, 1945. It is matted and presented in a colorful yellow frame, EX-MT. The second broadside measures approximately 10 x 16" and promotes a match-up between the Clowns and the Kingston Braves and dates from approximately 1955. It advertises "Baseball Circus: Fun-Laughs-Thrills" and refers to the Clowns as "The Globetrotters of Baseball". Pictured are 2 Clowns players, pitcher Bobo Small and Steve Andersen, a one-armed first baseman. This white broadside has blue lettering and measures approximately 10 x 16". It is matted and placed in an attractive blue frame. NRMT.
