Freshly discovered, it is signed in blue at the white border at bottom, “For Leone Biondi - With every good wish Cordially, George Gershwin March, 21, 1931.” The musical quotation that is rarely seen on Gershwin signed pieces is we believe Rhapsody in Blue. There is a tiny hole in the photo in the dark portion, which could be easily repaired. There is also some damage to the inscription and restoration has not been tried leaving this open to good work. Regardless, this could be one of the finest Gershwin signed photos extant. Framed overall 14x16”.
