One of the rarest Topps issues of the 1960s, this 35 card “set” is actually the program for the 1964 Topps Rookie All-Star Banquet. Starting in 1959, Topps sponsored a formal postseason banquet to honor its annual all-star rookie team. Through 1963, those banquets featured a traditional fold-out program, in 1964 Topps created this specially boxed card “set” instead. It comes in its original display box (EX-MT). The set is highlighted by the most difficult of all Pete Rose cards, card #12, picturing Rose on the 1963 Rookie All-Star team. Other highlights include #19 Richie Allen, 25 Tony Conigliaro, 27 Oliva, 34A Tiant, etc. Set grades NRMT to NM-MT. A very unique offering.
