Wonderful piece of marketing biz, this is the Jackie Robinson doll released in 1950 after the storm of merchandise created after his 1949 MVP season. This was made in limited distribution only for the African American market, hence the rarity. Stands 13” tall and wears a delightful Brooklyn Dodgers jersey in home white with #42 on the verso. He has a bit of crazing to the compo but is in overall excellent original condition and hence is one of the better specimens we have seen. He comes complete with his original paper die-cut tag with image of Jackie right on there. Made by the Allied-Grand Doll Company of Brooklyn, N.Y. He even has his original “B” cap in wool. Comes with his original small size Jackie Robinson bat (6”) with facsimile signature right on it. All original, no restoration and rare in this very complete state. EX.
