As the floor general to greatest dynasty in the history of basketball, the man who was magical before there was “Magic”, Bob Cousy, enamoured a generation with a style of play no fan had even dared imagine. And though his greatness was obvious from the beginning in wasn’t until the season of 1952 that the legend of “The Coos” began. That year he would lead the league in assists, finish among the tops in scoring, and carry the Celtics to a franchise best season. That same year he was voted to his first All-Star Game during which he would wear this spectacular blue dureen jersey. On both the front and back is his white tackle twill number “14”, the home of his black sharpie signature, surrounded by red stars. The tagging in the collar and inner tail is from “Horace Partridge” with additional red chain-stitched felt “Cousy” name plate on the inner back neck. Accompanying the jersey is a pair of blue satin shorts with red and white trim. Although the shorts are an excellent match they are most likely from a later All-Star appearance as indicated by the “Wilson [size] 36” tagging in the waist. Good use on both garments. LOA from Bob Cousy.
