Offered are 3 different costumes from “The Alamo,” starring John Wayne as Davy Crockett. This film was also John’s directorial debut, a favorite among Western buffs. The costumes are all Mexican military uniforms, dragoon, lancer & artillery. Each consists of a jacket & pants, intricately decorated and beautifully made of wool and other natural fibers. The jackets are EX or better. Two pairs of pants show some wear, most likely from use in battle scenes. One of the costumes has size 42 printed on the silk label at the collar. One costume reads “Republic Pictures,” as the film was initially to be made by them. In the end, it cost John Wayne his long-time association with Republic Pictures, who refused to meet his terms.
