A collection of seven letters, 5 typed, then signed and two handwritten, with great content regards to various Monty Python productions as well as personal business among the members of the British comedy troupe. Includes two letters signed by John Cleese, one by by Michael Palin, two by Eric Idle, one by David Frost, and one by Graham Chapman dated Dec. 13, 1976: “Hullo, Three what are called ladies (something to do with being of a different *gender, I think) helped us out quite a lot at a Charity Concert. They’re called by effeminate names like Anne, Hazel and Judy. Well anyway, I sent them 1 oz. pots of caviar as a present from four of us, i.e. people with dead butch names like John, Michael, Graham and Terry, (though Terry is a bit suspect, I think) (in fact, I know someone with a wife called Terry) (mind you she is a bit butch) (please burn this letter) (or at least, don’t send it in an envelope addressed; Mrs. Barry Cryer, 10th Avenue, Hatch End Middlesex.) Well anyway, this gesture cost me 12.00 pounds and so I would like 3.00 pounds from each of the people mentioned above as soon as fucking possible. Love, Graham. *Gender - To produce the “D” is excrescent. Shorter Oxford English Dictionary.” All letters done on letterhead or personalized stationary. EX to EX-MT.
