In 1971, Life Magazine commissioned Old Blue Eyes to photograph the now legendary Ali-Frazier 1 bout. From his ringside seat he was able to capture remarkable images that are without equal. In this photo Smokin’ Joe lands a stinging left hook, one of many Ali would endure that day. Matted to 16”x20” and stamped with the notation “Photo by Frank Sinatra”. Marked with a black “8” in the lower left corner. After the photo was printed and displayed by Life, Frank gave it to his best friend Jilly Rizzo where it hung in his infamous NY establishment, Jilly’s Restaurant, until now. Photo is NRMT. LOA.
