A scarce handwritten letter from the 19th century Hungarian pianist and most influential modern composer. Addressed to a musical friend, the letter, written in French, contains music content including two bars of music written in his own hand. In perfect condition, the paper on which it is written measures 8x10" (unfolded). Fountain pen ink is nicely legible with very little, if any fading. Comes with original mailing envelope addressed to Mr. Zazambski of Brussells, Belgium (sent from Italy - postmarked in Rome and Brussells). Dated January 24, 1882.
