New York Yankees ticket stub and program from the infamous George Brett "Pine Tar Game" on July 24, 1983. This was the game in which the umpires negated a George Brett go-ahead home run in the top of the ninth inning for having pine tar on his bat above the acceptable length of the handle. The ruling sent Brett into a hysterical frenzy and the ensuing argument with the umpires remains one of the most memorable in baseball history. Our consignor attended the game and both the stub and program have remained in his possession since that day. The stub (1.5x3") displays heavy creasing and is in Fair to Good condition. The program (8.5x11"), which is not scored, displays a small tear on the front cover and is also in Fair to Good condition. Together with a 1983 Yankees schedule.
