Cliff Floyd was a 6'5", 240 lbs. lefty swinging outfielder who played 17 Major League seasons (1993-2009), most memorably with the Montreal Expos, Florida Marlins, and New York Mets. Offered is a circa 2005 Cliff Floyd New York Mets game worn batting helmet. Floyd batted a career .278 with 233 home runs. He was an All-Star in 2001 and a World Champion in 1997, both with the Florida Marlins. Floyd was a New York Met from 2003-06. His best season with the Mets was in 2005, when the Mets went 83-79, finishing in third place and not making the playoffs. It wasn't Floyd's fault, as he bashed 34 home runs and had 98 RBIs, while batting .273.

The game used helmet is blue and black, with a New York Mets decal on front. "FLOYD" is printed on a decal on the helmet brim, with white letters on a blue background. The batting helmet has a flap for the right ear, consistent for a left-handed batter. The helmet has interior padding on the ear flap, at the top, and at the rear. On the front, interior is a size "8" decal. The helmet has a blue "button" on the outside top. On the outside rear is an MLB decal and "FLOYD" on a black decal with white letters. The helmet exhibits nice use, with scrapes, scratches, and abrasions, on the outside sides and back, consistent with the helmet being placed, sometimes with some force, into bat racks. The offering appears to have glue remnants around the outside top "button." The helmet is approx. 11.25" long and 8" wide, and about 8" high on the flap side. The offering weighs 16.75 ounces.
