Scarce 1953 promotional calendar display featuring a large color photo of Jackie Robinson. The calendar promotes three Columbia, South Carolina, business establishments: the Blue Palace Tea Shoppe, the Blue Palace Hotel, and the Blue Palace Tonsorial Parlor. All of those establishments were African-American owned businesses at the time, hence the use of Jackie Robinson's image. The rip-away calendar in the bottom right corner appears to be complete, with the cover still intact. A Jackie Robinson PM-10 stadium pin has been mounted at the top of the calendar. The display (14x11"; visible dimensions) displays moderate staining, but is complete with its original string hanger at the top. Matted and framed to total dimensions of 22.25x19". Please Note: The size and/or weight of this lot will necessitate an increased shipping charge.
