Presented is a multi-signed cover signed by ten Heisman Trophy winners: Alan Ameche, University of Wisconsin, Madison; Joe Bellino, Navy; Glenn Davis, Army; O.J. Simpson, USC; Doak Walker, TCU; Billy Cannon, LSU; Pete Dawkins, Army; Jay Berwanger, University of Chicago; Tom Harmon, Michigan; John David Cow, Texas A&M.
The First Day Cover envelope measures 3.75x6.5". The envelope has an approx. 2.25x3.3" sticker that depicts a player running with a football and reads, "100th Anniversary of Intercollegiate Football." On back, written by an unknown hand, the envelope has the names of the aforementioned signers - and numbers, which total 570, next to each name on small stickers. The envelope back also has some numbers, the meaning of which is unknown, written in pencil by an unknown hand. The envelope is stamped with a 6-cent stamp showing a player and coach and reading, "Football." The envelope also reads, "FIRST DAY ISSUE." Most of the signatures are in blue ballpoint ink, but Tom Harmon's signature is in fine tip black marker. The autographs average about 8/10.
Fittingly, since the first recognized college football game was held between Rutgers and Princeton and played at Rutgers, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, on September 26, 1869, the envelope is postmarked "SEP 26 1969/NEW BRUNSWICK NJ." The signed first day cover has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA Certified as "AUTHENTIC AUTO." The FIRST DAY ISSUE is in EXCELLENT condition.
