Presented is a cut autograph by Rocky Marciano, the only World Heavyweight Champion who was undefeated in his professional boxing career. Born Rocco Francis Marchegiano in 1923, Marciano changed the spelling of his last name to make it easier to pronounce for ring announcers. He was the World Heavyweight Champion from 1952-56. The 5'10" fighter had 49 professional fights, winning all 49, with 43 knockouts. Marciano won the World Heavyweight title on Sept. 23, 1952, with a knockout of Jersey Joe Walcott, in Philadelphia. Marciano fought former Heavyweight Champion Joe Louis on Oct. 26, 1951, at Madison Square Garden, winning on a TKO in the 8th round. It was the last time Joe Louis fought professionally as a boxer. Marciano ended his career with a win over Archie Moore at Madison Square Garden on September 21, 1955. Marciano's tough, never-say-die boxing style and name were used to create the Rocky Balboa character in the Rocky films.

The cut signature is on a piece of paper or thin card stock measuring 2.3x4.5". Marciano crafted a big and bold signature in blue, ballpoint ink. The cut signature has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA CERTIFIED "AUTHENTIC AUTO" (65101020). The piece of paper/card stock has tape remnants and very small areas of paper loss.
