Chicago White Sox road jersey worn by Hall of Fame slugger Frank Thomas during the 1995 season, together with a Frank Thomas Chicago White Sox game-worn cap from an unspecified year. Both items have been signed by Thomas on the front.
The gray knit jersey is lettered "Chicago" across the front and features the number "35" on the left breast and reverse. The name "Thomas" is lettered on the reverse, directly above the number. All letters and numerals are applied in black on white tackle twill. Located on the left front tail are a "Russell Athletic 48" label, a white strip tag bearing the uniform number, size, and year ("35-48-95") and two flag tags, one of which reads 2" Extra Length. A Chicago White Sox team patch appears on the left sleeve, while a special White Sox "95 Years" patch adorns the right sleeve. Thomas has inscribed the jersey "Frank Thomas 35" in blue Sharpie (grading 8/10) on the upper left breast. The jersey is original as issued and displays light-to-moderate wear, including fraying to the stitching securing the letters and numerals on the front and reverse.
The black wool New Era "59 Fifty" cap features the White Sox logo embroidered in white on the front. Located on the interior headband are a New Era label, a "Diamond Collection" label and "7 1/8" size tag. Thomas' uniform number ("35") is written on the underside of the brim in vintage black marker. Thomas has inscribed the cap "Frank Thomas 35" in silver paint pen (grading 6/10) on the top of the brim. The hat displays moderate wear, including soiling along the entire headband.
Thomas enjoyed another banner season in 1995 (strike shortened to 145 games), batting .308 with 40 home runs and 111 RBI. One of the greatest sluggers of the modern era, "The Big Hurt" finished his career with 521 home runs, 1,704 RBI, and a .301 lifetime average. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014, his first year of eligibility. Thomas is also one of eleven White Sox players to have his number retired by the club. LOA from PSA (for the signatures only) for both the jersey and hat.
