Polonia wore this home Yankees pinstripe jersey when he hit a clutch pinch-hit single in the 9th inning of Game 1 of the 2000 World Series against the New York Mets. The hit advanced Paul O'Neill to second base, and O'Neill would score two batters later to tie the game. A Russell Athletic and Diamond Collection, size 42 tag is sewn to the front left tail of the jersey. There is a year "2000" tag underneath that is almost completely faded from heavy laundering. The 2000 World Series patch is sewn to the right sleeve, and a black memorial armband for Bob Lemon is sewn to the left. The interlocking NY logo is sewn to the left chest area of the jersey, and Polonia's number 19 is sewn to the back. Polonia signed the "1," and on the "9" he wrote, "2000 WS Game Used." The jersey shows outstanding signs of use as it was worn by Polonia during the regular season, and likely the playoffs as well.
