Number 23 is written on the knob in black marker above the stamping of the model number, and it is autographed between trademark and barrel stamp in 9/10 black Sharpie with the inscription "my gamer" below. Widely considered the premier second baseman of his era, Sandberg amassed 9 Gold Gloves and 7 Silver Slugger awards in his 16 seasons, all spent in the friendly confines of Wrigley Field. In 1985, one year after winning the National League MVP award, the Hall of Famer batted a strong .305 while belting 26 homers and 83 RBI for one of his most productive offensive seasons.
