Detroit Red Wings jersey worn by Brent Gilchrist during the 1997-98 season, which was his first year with the club. The white mesh jersey features the Red Wings team-logo patch on the front and the number "41" on the reverse and each sleeve. "Gilchrist" is lettered on the reverse, directly above the number. All letters and reverse numerals are applied in red tackle twill. All sleeve numerals are applied in white tackle twill. Located in the collar are a "Nike 54" label and a "Center Ice" label. A stamping on the rear interior tail reads "1997-98/Authentic/Game Jersey/1st Set." A circular patch, reading "Believe" and bearing the initials "VKSM," appears on the right breast. (All Detroit Red Wings players wore this patch on their jersey that year in honor of teammate Vladimir Konstantinov, who was recovering from a car accident.) The jersey is original as issued and displays excellent use, including numerous stick marks on the front, reverse, and each sleeve, color transfers, and several team repairs to small tears on the sleeves.
