Photo signed by Hall of Fame shortstop Willie Wells. The photo, which captures Wells as a member of the Winnipeg Buffaloes (circa 1952), has been inscribed "Best Wishes/Willie Wells Sr." along the base. Both the inscription and signature have been scripted in blue ink and grade 8/10. Wells was one of the top shortstops in the Negro Leagues during the 1920s and 1930s, and later continued his career as player/manager for a number of clubs through the 1950s, including Winnipeg. Wells died in 1989, but wasn't elected to the Hall of Fame until 1997. As a result, his signature remains scarce today. The photo (5x7"), which is a second-generation print, remains in Excellent to Mint condition. Full LOA from PSA.
