As a minor league second baseman in the St. Louis Cardinals organization, Earl Weaver couldn't run, hit for power, or throw, and yet he eventually became the consensus best skipper in the history of the Baltimore Orioles. Offered is 1982 "Retire Earl Weaver Jersey #4" ticket stub that is signed by the Hall of Fame manager and PSA graded NM 7, with a POP of 1 of 1, HIGHEST GRADED, and PSA/DNA Certified "AUTO 9."  Weaver was born in 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri, and his father did dry cleaning of uniforms for both the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Browns. Earl often accompanied his father into the Cardinals clubhouse. Later, Weaver became a player in the St. Louis Cards system but never made the Major Leagues. He finally became a minor league manager in the Baltimore Orioles system, ironic because the former St. Louis Browns moved to Baltimore and became the Baltimore Orioles.

As a manager, Weaver was famous for often disdaining small ball and relying on pitching, defense and the three-run homer. He managed the Orioles from 1968-82 and from 1985-86. Some of his star players were Hall of Famers: Frank and Brooks Robinson, Cal Ripken Jr., and Jim Palmer. Weaver was notorious for berating umpires, and while records vary, he was ejected 96 times from regular season games, 4th all-time behind his managing idol, Leo Durocher. Weaver passed away in 2013. 

The ticket stub measures approx. 1.5x2.6". It reads, in part, "BALTIMORE ORIOLES/Memorial Stadium/SUN. SEPT. 19/1982/LOWER RESERVED PRICE $5.50." The stub has been encapsulated. Weaver signed his PSA/DNA "AUTO 9" bold signature in blue marker.
