Redland Field, later known as Crosley, the scene of Major League baseball’s first night game on My 24, 1935, was opened on April 11, 1912. And here, on the back of this celluloid mirror is one of the first images created of Crosley Field, as it looked on that historic opening day. Although the celluloid mirror is technically EX, the appearance of the obverse is much better, grading at least EX-MT. Paint and colors still vibrant and completely intact, the aerial shot of the field is a wondrous scene recreating the old style ballpark from the Golden Era. Labeled in lower left corner, “New National League Baseball Park for the Cincinnati Reds, 1912.”
