Displayed is a 2002 Gary Sheffield Atlanta Braves game worn, short sleeve, away gray jersey. Sheffield played 22 seasons for eight Major League teams. He was mostly an outfielder, but he also saw time at third base and shortstop. Over his Major League career, he batted .292 with 509 home runs. The 9-time All-Star won the 1992 NL batting crown with a .330 batting average for the San Diego Padres. He was a World Champion for the 1997 Florida Marlins. Sheffield had a fine year for the Braves when this jersey was worn in 2002 as he batted .307 with 25 home runs. Sheffield is the nephew of former star pitcher Dwight Gooden.

"Atlanta" is written across the chest in sewn-on red letters with blue trim. Below "Atlanta" is the Braves sewn-on tomahawk logo. Six silver buttons go down the front. On the left, below the tomahawk, is a very small area where a pin or other sharp object caused fabric pilling. On the lower, left outside tail are five tags: 1) MLB Authentic/Russell Athletic (manufacturers); 2) 100% polyester & [size] "50"; 3) -1" sleeve length; 4) -1" body length; 5) "1 - 02 [set and year]. On the left sleeve is a Russell manufacturer's, sewn-on emblem. Across the back is a gray nameplate, with Sheffield in sewn-on black letters. Below the nameplate is "11" in red, sewn-on numerals with blue trim. The jersey exhibits moderate use.
