George Foreman, an ultra-powerful puncher with a larger-then-life personality, was a 2-time World Heavyweight Boxing Champion. Presented is Foreman's United States passport, with a signed 2.1x2.25" photo, issued to him on August 11, 1978. Foreman fought from 1967-97. Known as "Big George," he was 6'3". Foreman won the Olympic Heavyweight Championship in 1968. As a professional, in 81 fights he had a record of 76 wins (68 by knockout) and only five loses. He won his first World Heavyweight Championship in 1973 when he had a knockout of undefeated Joe Frazier. In 1974, he suffered his first professional loss, and lost the World Heavyweight title, when he was knocked out by Muhammad Ali in "The Rumble in the Jungle" in Zaire. In that bout, Ali initially used his later famous "rope-a-dope" technique, where Ali leaned against the ropes, absorbing punishment to the body in a successful attempt to tire out Foreman. In 1994, during a comeback, Foreman won the unified WBA, IBF and lineal Heavyweight Championship by knocking out 26-year-old Michael Moorer. At 46 years and 169 days, Foreman became the oldest World Heavyweight Champion in history. Big George's fame increased when he became the famous spokesman for the George Foreman Grill. Foreman had attributed his comeback success to a healthy diet, and the George Foreman Grill was marketed as fat reducing. Big George made an estimated sum of over 200 million dollars for his grill endorsement, easily exceeding his lifetime income from boxing. Foreman had 12 children, five of them males, and all named George Jr., and they often went by Roman numeral numbers to lessen the confusion. Foreman passed away on March 21, 2025. He is an inductee to both the World Boxing Hall of Fame and the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

The offered Foreman passport measures approx. 3.4x4.8", and it has 24 pages. The Foreman black & white photograph is on the third page. Foreman signed a neatly written signature in black ink. The passport number is "J2492639." On page 2 is machine printed, "GEORGE EDWARD FOREMAN/M [male]/birth date JAN. 10, 1949." The passport has a Visa for Japan, dated JAN 29 1979 [sic] and nearly a dozen stamps from US, Zaire, and Japan. The passport exhibits a very slight darkening from the passage of time. Overall, the passport is in EXCELLENT condition.
