Pittsburgh Pirates road jersey worn by mound ace Doug Drabek in 1988. The gray knit jersey is lettered "Pirates" across the front and features the number "15" on the left breast and reverse. "Drabek" is lettered upon a gray nameplate on the reverse, directly above the number. All letters and numerals are applied in black on gold tackle twill. Located on the interior left front tail are both a "Rawlings 44" label and a flag tag reading "Set 1 1988." A Pirates team patch appears on the left sleeve, while the black initials "RSC" (in honor of Pittsburgh Mayor Richard Caliguiri, who died in May of that year) adorn the right sleeve. The jersey is original as issued and displays light-to-moderate wear.
Drabek led the Pirates in wins in 1988, finishing the year with a record of 15-7 and a 3.08 ERA. One of the game's top pitchers between the years 1988 and 1992, Drabek won 81 games during that five-year span and was the winner of the 1991 Cy Young Award. Drabek retired in 1998 with 155 wins and a 3.73 lifetime ERA.
