Displayed is a circa 1930s Rogers Hornsby Type I snapshot of the Hall of Fame second baseman. Rogers, known as "the Rajah," played 23 seasons: St. Louis Cardinals (1915-26 & '33), New York Giants (1927), Boston Braves (1928), Chicago Cubs (1929-32), St. Louis Browns (1933-37). Hornsby is generally regarded as one of baseball's all-time best right-handed batters. Obsessed with hitting, Hornsby is said to have avoided going to the movies and reading books because he did not want to strain his eyes. Hornsby was a 2-time NL MVP, a 1926 World Champion, and a 7-time NL batting leader. He had an amazing .358 career batting average and hit over .400 in three seasons, with an incredible .424 batting average in 1924 for the Cardinals. He was also a Major League manager.

The offered black & white snapshot measures 3.25x4.25". It has been encapsulated and PSA certified as "TYPE I AUTHENTIC." It depicts a relaxed Hornsby showing a warm smile. It is in EXCELLENT condition.
