Displayed is a 1942 Hank Borowy New York Yankees flannel, game worn road jersey. Borowy was a right-hander who pitched from 1942-51 in the Major Leagues: New York Yankees (1942-45); Chicago Cubs (1945-48); Philadelphia Phillies (1949-50); Pittsburgh Pirates (1950); Detroit Tigers (1950-51). Borowy had a 108-82 career record, with a 3.50 ERA. In 1942, when this jersey was game worn, Borowy had his bast season, with a 15-4 record and a 2.82 ERA.

The jersey has a Wilson manufacturer's tag in the collar, and below that a size "44" tag. In the collar is a sewn-on white tag showing "Borowy." Seven gray buttons run down the front. "New York" is in sewn-on navy blue letters across the chest. The front has been restored, and the 1942 HEALTH patch on the left sleeve is a restored period original patch. The jersey has a few very small stains, and a light stain, a few inches long, in the front collar. Despite a few imperfections, the jersey presents well.
