Rare 1954 Bowman Baseball retail box that once housed 120 one-cent packs of baseball cards, together with a 1954 Bowman Baseball wrapper. In the past twenty-five years we have offered just three other 1954 Bowman Baseball retail boxes; however, all three of those previous examples once housed twenty-four five-cent wax packs. The offered box (which is empty) is the first we have ever seen issued for the company's one-cent Baseball wax packs, which provided the patron with just one card and one stick of gum (the five-cent packs held five cards and a stick of gum).

The colorful graphics on the lid and all four side panels feature a generic ballplayer leaping for a catch, with "Bowman" lettered on his jersey. The year, "1954," is stamped on the lid, while the text on each side panel makes note of the box's original contents: "120 Count - Full Color Picture Card And Bubble Gum." The box (8x5.5x2.75") displays wear commensurate with its age and fragile nature, including several minor creases, mainly on the side panels, but no significant tears or stains as are commonly found on such pieces.

Accompanying the box is an equally scarce 1954 Bowman one-cent baseball wrapper. The wrapper features the year, "1954," prominently displayed within the illustration of a large baseball, and the text makes note of the the contents: "Full Color Picture Card And Bubble Gum." The wrapper (5x6.25") displays normal folds and light creases, as is normal. Both the box and wrapper are perfect for display with any advanced 1950 Bowman Baseball collection.
