Displayed is a Walter Payton signed "Sweetness" poster that shows the Pro Football Hall of Fame running back posing in his KangaROOS gear, with his car. After college football at Jackson State University, Payton played 13 NFL seasons, all with the Chicago Bears. Nicknamed "Sweetness," he was the 1977 AP NFL MVP and helped the Bears to a Super Bowl XX win after the 1985 season. Payton rushed for 16,726 yards, with 110 rushing touchdowns. He also caught 492 passes for 4,538 yards and 15 touchdowns. He still holds NFL records for consecutive regular season starts as a running back (170), most consecutive seasons leading in rushing attempts (4, tied), and games with 100 or more yards rushing (108).
The offered signed poster measures approx. 19.2x27.5". Payton, apparently posing outside his home, is wearing KangaROOS sneakers, pants, tee-shirt, and headband. "Sweetness" is in orange lettering on the top left, and the KangaROOS name and logo are in orange near the lower left side. The poster has six vertical fold lines. There is an approx. 1.5" tear near the left edge and some areas of minor paper loss and crinkling, mostly near the edges. Payton signed the poster with a bold signature in fine-tip blue marker. The signed poster comes with a PSA/DNA LOA for the signature.
