Presented are two Eddie Collins signed contracts and one Collins signed letter, both from the Hall of Famer's time as the general manager of the Boston Red Sox. Collins played 25 Major league seasons: Philadelphia Athletics (1906-14 & 1927-30) and Chicago White Sox (1915-26). A second baseman, he batted a career .333 with 3,315 hits. A 6-time World Series Champion, he was a 4-time AL steals leader, with a Major League total of 745 stolen bases. He was one of the honest players on the infamous 1919 Chicago White Sox, known forever as the "Black Sox" because eight of the team's players were banned for baseball for life because of consorting with gamblers who fixed the 1919 World Series in favor of the underdog Cincinnati Reds. Collins attended Columbia University, and after coaching and managing in the Major Leagues, he became the general manager of the Boston Red Sox from 1933-47. As the Red Sox G.M., he signed Hall of Famers Joe Cronin, Ted Williams, and Bobby Doerr.

1) A Uniform Agreement contract assigning player Tom Olson to a farm club in Louisville, Kentucky. Olson pitched briefly for the Red Sox in 1936-38. The one-page contract, measuring 8.5x11", is dated February 17, 1939, and it stipulates that for the sum of $100.00, the Red Sox can repurchase the contract on or before Sept. 1, 1939 for $500.00. Collins signed the contract in black fountain ink as the Red Sox vice president. The contract has been stamped with the baseball Commissioner's stamp, dated Feb. 24, 1939. The contract appears to be a duplicate, but hand-signed by Collins. The contract is in EXCELLENT condition. 2) A Uniform Agreement contract assigning player Richard Midkiff from the Red Sox to a farm team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Midkiff pitched in 13 games for the Red Sox, with a 1-1 record, in 1938. The contract stipulates that for $100.00, Boston has the right to repurchase the contract for $500.00. The contract is dated May 14, 1938, and Eddie Collins signed in dark fountain ink as the Red Sox vice president. The contract has a number of vertical folds from mailing. There is some slight darkening and some tiny paper loss along the right margin. 3) A one-page letter, on Boston American League Baseball Company stationery, measuring 8.5x11", and dated July 28, 1933, written to the Secretary and Tournament manager of an American Legion Junior Baseball in Springfield, Ohio, and requesting that Red Sox owner and President Tom Yawkey attend the tournament on August 24th at Springfield. Eddie Collins signed the letter, as the Red Sox general manager, in dark fountain ink, at the bottom. The letter has some foxing and darkening, especially at the top and edges, at least four minuscule holes in the top left quadrant and two horizontal folds for mailing. COMES WITH PSA LOA
