Collection of thirty-five large-format boxing photos, nearly all of which picture fighters who were active during the first half of the nineteenth century. The vast majority of the photos are second-generation prints and none of the photos are signed. Several duplicates are included. Many of the fighters represented here are unidentified. Featured in the collection are photos of Jake La Motta, Harry Greb (nine examples, six of which are duplicates), Tony Pellone, Bernie Reynolds, Kid Herman, Chubby Brown, Freddy Steele, Harry Greb, Sonny Liston, and Max Baer together with Tony Galento (ring action). Also included is a photo of wrestler George Bothner. (Please note that all identifications are based solely upon the printed names of the respective fighters on either the front or reverse of the photo.) The average size of each photo is approximately 10x13", with some slightly smaller or larger. Condition ranges from Poor to Excellent, averaging Good to Very Good, with several of the photos affixed to a cardboard backing.
