Collection of sixty-seven vintage baseball snapshot photographs dating from the 1920s through the 1940s. The vast majority of the photos picture a Major League player posing in uniform on the field, but a few also picture players in street clothes. A few of the players, especially the Hall of Famers, are easily identifiable; otherwise identifications listed here are based solely upon the vintage handwritten identifications on the reverse of the photo (some photos bear no identifications on the reverse). Photos range in size from approximately 2.25x3.5" to 3x5", with a few slightly smaller or larger. Many of the photos display paper residue on the reverse from having been removed from a scrapbook, as well as additional handwritten notations or owner stamps on the reverse. Very Good condition overall.
Included among the players represented here, some more than once, are George "High Pockets" Kelly, Bill Terry, Jessie Haines (in street clothes at the 1942 World Series), Joe Stripp, Babe Dahlgren, Hank Lieber, Harland Clift, Ethan Allen, Don Heffner, Ray Kremer, Lou Stringer, Harry Danning, Lou Novikoff, Grover Lowdermilk, John Babich, Vince DiMaggio, Eddie Moore, Wally Moses, Morrie Arnovich, Bill Nicholson, Wally Berger, Red Kress, Frank Demaree, Joe Moore, Charley Grimm, Ed Weiland, Bill Lohrman, Dick Lajeskie, John Rucker, Ralph Boyle, Babe Young, Marv Grissom, and Bobby LaMotte. The collection also includes eight additional snapshot photos picturing unidentified individuals (presumably ballplayers) in street clothes.
