Presented is a single-signed Ty Cobb ball dated June 25, 1925, on a day when Cobb's Detroit Tigers defeated the visiting St. Louis Browns 3-2, and Cobb blasted career home run #106. Inaugural Hall of Famer Cobb was 38 years old in 1925, but he was still going strong. In the bottom of the first inning of the aforementioned game, Cobb, batting clean-up, hit a two-run home run to deep center field off the Browns' starter and loser, Dave Danforth. Cobb went 2-for-3 on the day, with a walk. Cobb signed the Official American League Ball (Johnson) on a side panel. He used ink and inscribed the ball "June 25. 25." The offering comes with a PSA/DNA LOA (Cert. Number AG03751). The autograph and inscription are faint. The LOA gives the signed ball an Overall Grade of 4, based on an Autograph Grade of 3, and a Baseball Grade of 5. Any single-signed and inscribed ball from "The Georgia Peach" makes a great, vintage collectible.
