Displayed is a charming 1928 Babe Ruth and Harold Lloyd original Type I Paramount Pictures photograph which was used for his 1928 T. Contiero Film Stars Card.  Both the Babe and Lloyd were riding high in '28. Ruth was baseball's most famous slugger and highest paid player, and Lloyd was Hollywood's premier comedy star, and the highest paid actor in the movies. In '28, Harold Lloyd produced and starred in a movie called Speedy, an 85-minute silent film that later added three talking scenes. Lloyd plays a struggling taxi driver, called Harold, who is a huge Ruth fan, and Ruth plays himself. A segment of the plot involves Harold reading in the newspaper that Ruth will be handing out autographed baseballs to orphans at an orphan's asylum, so Harold drives his taxi to the orphanage to see Ruth, and the Bambino whistles to him, calling for a cab. Ruth shouts to Harold, "Hey! Take me to the Yankee Stadium - in a hurry!" Harold complies, and the ride is a white-knuckle affair in which the speeding cab narrowly avoids countless accidents. Ruth is tossed, turned, and bounced in the back seat. When the taxi reaches Yankee Stadium, Ruth gets out, pays Harold, and says, "If I ever want to commit suicide, I'll call you." The Paramount publicity photo shows Ruth and Lloyd in costume, and both are smiling. The photo has been encapsulated and PSA Certified as "Type I AUTHENTIC." The photo has some slight creasing and some minor paper loss, but is otherwise in nice condition.
