The signature has been graded MINT 9, the ball NM-MT 8, with a half point added for eye appeal, resulting in an overall graded of MINT 9. Hornsby signed the side panel of this Official American League (Harridge) ball with a blue ballpoint pen. He included "1961" below his signature. The baseball is in pristine condition and the signature rates 9. Hornsby played 23 seasons of Major League baseball and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1942.
