Offered is multi-sport publication, autograph, and memorabilia collection. Included in the lot is a New York Yankees commemorative World Series bat signed by Roger Clemens. The Cooperstown Collection bat was produced in 2002 and is number 401 in a limited edition of 5,000. The Yankees logo is etched into the barrel of the bat, next to an etching of Yankee Stadium. Also on the barrel of the bat are the words, "26 Time World Series Champions." Beneath this are the results of each of the World Series titles that the Yankees have won, including year, opponent, and series score. Clemens signed the bat and included "WORLD CHAMPS 1999+2000" with his signature. The bat is 35" long and is in excellent condition.
The second bat in the collection is a black Louisville Slugger Ken Griffey Jr. C271 model bat. The bat is 34" long and is in excellent condition. Griffey's signature is engraved in the barrel of the bat in silver. "SEATTLE MARINERS" is engraved in silver below the signature. Complementing the bat are a pair of Ken Griffey Jr. model Mariners-era cleats with the Swingman logo on the back heels. The size 11 cleats are black, teal, and white and show signs of light use.
One of the most unique items in the lot is a 18x24" color poster signed by BMX dirt bike champion T.J. Lavin. Lavin was the dirt jumping champion at the 1997 and 1999 Summer X Games.
There are two books included in the lot, a New York Jets-related book signed on the cover by author Gerald Eskenazi, and a Philadelphia Warriors Arena Basketball book from 1950-51. Inside the book are pages from 35 Arena News programs from the Warriors season dating from November 4, 1950 to March 20, 1951. The book is in very good condition. There are also two Arena News programs included in the lot, that are not bound in the book. They are from November 23 and November 30, 1950.
Several vintage New York Giants football programs are included in the lot. The programs are from the following dates: November 11, 1945 (vs. Philadelphia), October 26, 1952 (vs. Philadelphia), October 24, 1954 (vs. Washington), November 14, 1954 (vs. Philadelphia), November 13, 1955 (vs. Baltimore), October 21, 1956 (vs. Pittsburgh), and November 11, 1956 (vs. the Cardinals). There is one ticket stub included with the Steelers program, and two ticket stubs included with the Cardinals program. The programs are in very good condition overall, and the tickets are in excellent condition. Also included is a New York Yanks vs. Chicago Bears football program from October 29, 1950, and a Los Angeles Rams vs. Cleveland Browns program from August 28, 1953.
College football is represented in this lot as there are programs from the following games: Upsala vs. Moravian (1958), Fresno St. vs. San Jose St. (1960), Franklin and Marshall vs. Dickinson (1960), California St. College of Los Angeles vs. University of Hawaii (1964), California vs. Humboldt St. (1964), and San Francisco State College vs. University of Nevada (1965).
There are also four New Haven Eagles hockey programs from 1934, 1936 (x2), and 1937.
Also included are 11 The Ring boxing magazines from the following years: 1922 (April through December), 1928, and 1929. The magazines are in fair condition overall.
There are three vintage magazines included in this lot: Life (1940), Collier's, with Joe DiMaggio on the cover (1946), and Sports Review (1951). The following modern magazines are included in the lot as well: 1982 Pro Quarterback magazine, 1982 Pro! (with Joe Montana on cover), 1991 Athlon's Pro Football Annual, 1994 Golf Digest (with Tiger Woods on the cover), 1995 Sports Illustrated (with Andre Agassi on cover), 1997 People Weekly (with Tiger Woods on the cover), and a 1998 Harlem Globetrotters program.
Completing the lot are 24 sepia-tone photographs of MLB stars from the 1920s through 1970s, printed on magazine paper stock. The pictures measure 9.5x12" and notable names include Mel Ott, Hank Greenberg, Stan Musial, and Roy Campanella.
