With the closing of Maple Leaf Gardens, another chapter in Toronto’s storied hockey history came to and end. The Maple Leaf Gardens auction and sale saw memorabilia from the old building sell at astronomical prices. This is the Honored Hall-of-Fame Members plaque depicting superstar defenseman Borje Salming that hung in the arena. The hand sketched image is an original art piece by Irma Concill. Professionally framed and matted with a plaque detailing Borje’s career and HOF induction date.
