Displayed is a high-grade 1963 Detroit Tigers team-signed baseball, with 25 signatures, that originates from the personal collection of Al Kaline, Hall of Fame right fielder. The '63 Detroit Tigers finished the season in fifth place in the American League. Kaline had the team's highest batting average that season at .312, and he also led the Tigers in home runs (27) and RBIs (101). Outfielder Rocky Colavito was also a big offensive contributor, with a .271 batting average, with 22 round-trippers and 91 RBIs. Phil Regan led the pitchers with a 15-9 record, with a 3.86 ERA. The Tigers in '63 were managed initially by Bob Scheffing, and then for the team's final 102 games by Charlie Dressen. The signed ball has a machine printed "THE DETROIT TIGERS."
