Presented is a 1973 Washington Redskins check to Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Sonny Jurgensen, signed by Jurgensen on the back. The former Duke University star was an 18-year NFL player: Philadelphia Eagles (1957-63), Washington Redskins (1964-74). A 5-time Pro Bowler, Jurgensen was a 5-time NFL leader in passing yardage, a 4-time NFL leader in completions, and a 2-time NFL leader in touchdown passes. In his career, Sonny threw for 32,224 yards, and 255 touchdowns. Jurgensen was a "gunslinger" as a quarterback, and he liked to go for broke, thus, he also threw for 189 interceptions. He was a player on the 1960 NFL Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. The offered signed check measures 3x8.25". The check has a Redskins logo at the top, and also at the top is, machine-printed, "The Redskins." The check is written on the American Security and Trust Company, of Washington, D.C. It is dated July 21, 1973, and in the amount of $99.05. Jurgensen endorsed the check on the back, and his signature is big and bold in neat, blue ballpoint ink. The check is in EXCELLENT condition.
