The gorgeous ring is created from sterling silver and 10-karat yellow gold, with diamonds and created blue and orange sapphires. The offering was awarded to Jose R. Lopez, an off-field employee of the Astros. In 2021, the Astros, under manager Dusty Baker, had a 95-67 regular season record, finishing in 1st place in the AL West. Houston won its Divisional Series, 3-1 in games, over the Chicago White Sox. In the AL Championship Series, the Astros defeated the Boston Red Sox by 4-2 in games. The Astros lost the '21 World Series by 4-2 in games to the Atlanta Braves. Designated hitter Yordan Alvarez led the Astros batters with 33 home runs and 104 RBIs, while the team's top starting pitcher was Lance McCullers, with a 13-5 record and a 3.16 ERA.
The offered ring top shows the Astros logo with 19 round cut diamonds in the "H" and 8 custom-cut created orange sapphires set in the star behind the "H." The logo is surrounded by 40 round diamonds, all of which is encircled by 42 custom cut created blue sapphires. The words "AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS," created in yellow gold, accent the top and bottom of the ring. These words feature two Princess cut diamonds between them for a total of four diamonds. In the perimeter of the ring top are 60 additional diamonds. The left side of the ring has the recipient's name spelled out in yellow gold. To the right of the recipient's name is an outline of Texas surrounded by 15 round diamonds with one created orange sapphire signifying the city of Houston. An image of Minute Maid Park is the background for the left side. The right side of the ring includes the AL Championship year date, accented by the Astros wordmark logo. Below is the AL Trophy created in yellow gold and set with one round diamond. There are four additional barriers on the right side, each set with one round diamond. The interior of the ring has the Astros logo accented by two stars as well as the championship year dates of 2005, 2017, 2019, and 2021. The palm side features the team's rally cry of, "FOR THE H." The rings have an average weight of 63 grams of sterling silver and 10-karat yellow gold. The rings feature 139 round diamonds and four Princess cut diamonds for approximately 2.80 carats. There are eight custom-cut created orange sapphires, one round orange sapphire, and 42 custom-cut created blue sapphires. All of the diamonds are SL1 quality and F-G color. The ring is size 11.5. The offering comes with the original box from the owner, measuring 4,75x7.8", with a height of 2.6". When the box is opened two small lights turn on, illuminating the ring. The top of the box reads, "2021 AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS/FOR THE H." The hard plastic box comes in the original Jostens hard cardboard outer box, with some partial tears.
