On September 7, 1892, World Heavyweight Champion John L. Sullivan defended his title against “Gentleman” Jim Corbett at the Olympic Club in New Orleans. This was the first heavyweight championship to be decided using boxing gloves. Sullivan showed the signs of age and years of abusive drinking and overeating and could not keep up with the slicker and quicker Corbett. Corbett stopped the champion in the 21st round to win the title. Presented here is a full, unused ticket to the event. Both of the tickets grade G/VG overall.
