Enormous collection of 395 single-signed baseballs featuring 349 different former Major League players, plus 37 duplicates and 9 signed by others related to the game (announcers, league officials, etc). There are no Hall of Famers represented in this collection, but many stars are featured. The vast majority are signed across the sweet spot and the signatures, scripted in a variety of inks, average 8/10. Nearly all the balls are either Official American, National, or Major League baseballs (1980s era or later) and display varying degrees of age toning. Aside from the age toning most are in Near Mint condition. Approximately 25% of the balls have the respective signer's name printed in ink (in an unknown hand) on a side panel and three are personalized. Our consignor's father worked with Major League players on a professional basis for several decades and obtained nearly all these balls in person. However, it is possible that in a collection of this size, a small percentage (2%-4%) of the signatures may represent clubhouse examples.
