A bat used by long-time Red Sox star Dwight Evans circa 1986-89. The hickory-colored Louisville Slugger model C271 is 34.5 inches long and weighs 30.7 ounces. The uncracked bat shows tremendous signs of wear with ball strikes and paint transfers evident throughout. The player's number 24 is written on the knob in silver marker. Evans has also signed the bat in silver marker near the barrel. The lot will include a Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA which has assigned the bat a grade of Game Used 10. Evans played for Boston from 1972-90, winning 8 Gold Gloves and making 3 All-Star teams. He is a member of the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame.
