Boston Red Sox road jersey worn by outfielder Trot Nixon during the club's historic 2004 World Championship season. Graded A10 by MEARS. The gray knit jersey is lettered "Boston" across the front and features the number "7" on the reverse. All numerals and letters are applied in red on navy tackle twill. Located on the left front tail are a "Russell Athletic" label, a "2004" year tag, an adjacent "50" size tag, and an additional tag reading +2" sleeve length. The jersey is original as issued and displays light use. Outfielder Trot Nixon was Boston's starting right fielder from 1999 to 2006, but he appeared in only forty-eight regular-season games in 2004 due to a herniated disc. His late-season return in 2004 was auspicious for the Red Sox, as Nixon provided a pivotal two-run game-winning home run in the ALDS against Oakland. In the World Series, he batted .357 with 3 doubles and 3 RBI to help lead the club to its first World Championship since 1918. Nixon retired after the 2008 season with 137 home runs, 555 RBI, and a lifetime .274 batting average. Full LOA from MEARS (graded A10).
