Presented is a 1939 The New York Chapter of the Baseball Writers' Association of America signed February 5th dinner program (seating arrangement), with signatures from Hall of Famers Babe Ruth and Jimmie Foxx. The 8x11", four-page program has four signatures, each written in pencil, on the cover. In addition to the signatures of Ruth and Foxx, the program cover has signatures of Robert Ripley and Walter O'Keefe. Many observers consider Ruth, with his 714 lifetime home runs, hit when his yearly home run total often exceeded that of a number of other American League teams combined, along with a 94-46 pitching record and 2.25 career ERA, to be baseball's best player of all time. Ruth still holds the all-time MLB records for both slugging (.690) and OPS (1.164). Fellow Hall of Famer Jimmie Foxx bashed 534 career home runs, and for 67 years was the youngest player to ever reach 500 homers. Foxx played most of his career for the Philadelphia Athletics and Boston Red Sox. He had a .325 career average and was a 4-time AL home run leader and 2-time AL batting champ. The program has a lateral fold across the middle and some partial tears on that fold line and in some other places. The program has some small tears. There is also darkening, some stains, and some paper loss in a program that is over almost 85 years old. The program comes with a PSA/DNA full Letter of Authenticity for the signatures. PSA/DNA Cert. Number: AQ06078. Despite the wear and tear on the program, it remains intact and contains the signatures of the incomparable Ruth, and of Jimmie Foxx, one of baseball's greatest all-time home run sluggers.
