This lot features a program from the 1966 Piatigorsky Cup signed by chess legends Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky. The program has also been signed by other players including another World Champion in Tigran Petrosian. Fischer has signed next to his photo in pencil. Also included with the program are photos from the event and a match schedule. The item has been authenticated by PSA/DNA. Interest in this particular event, which took place in Santa Monica, California, was high with more than 500 spectators watching. Spassky would be crowned the champion after going undefeated throughout the tournament. Considered one of the greatest players of all time, Fischer would disappear from the public eye for nearly 20 years before returning in 1992 to take on Spassky. Fischer passed away in 2008 at the age of 64.
