Enormous and rare Mickey Mantle advertising poster issued in 1982. This is the first example of this Mantle poster we have ever offered and we cannot recall having seen more than two others in the past fifteen years (one resided in the famed Barry Halper Collection). Issued by the New York Lottery in promotion of its new "Baseball Instant Lottery," the poster pictures Mantle holding a lottery ticket, with the caption above him reading "Mickey Mantle Can Still Hit The Big One." The debut of New York's Baseball Instant Lottery coincided with the start of the baseball season in 1982, and who would be a more recognizable pitchman in New York than "The Mick." Measuring a whopping 59x45 inches, this is one of largest Mickey Mantle advertising posters we have ever seen and one that will certainly be the focal point on any wall upon which it is displayed. The poster displays light creasing, tack holes along all four borders, a small interior tear (tiny amount of paper loss) and a small tear along the top border. This poster has been stored rolled for the past many years and will be shipped rolled to the winning bidder.
