George Herman Ruth was a one-of-a-kind phenomenon, with a larger-than-life persona, and considered by many pundits to be baseball's G.O.A.T. Presented is the opportunity to possess a Ruth cut autograph. Ruth played 22 Major League seasons (1914-35), and in his first six seasons, he was an outstanding left-handed pitcher with the Boston Red Sox, with a lifetime record, including a few pitching appearances as a Yankee, of 94-46. While he also played some outfield with the Red Sox, Ruth became essentially a full-time outfielder when he was sold to the Yankees before the 1920 season. While his lifetime home run total of 714 has been surpassed, in his time Ruth often hit more home runs himself in the American League than the combined totals of several other rival teams. A signature of the Bambino will always be prized. The offering measures 1x4.7", on what appears to be lined paper or thin card stock. Ruth used a fountain pen to sign in dark blue or black ink as "G H Ruth," much more unusual than his usual signature of "Babe Ruth." The paper or card stock on which Ruth signed appears to have darkened somewhat. Ruth, who had outstanding handwriting, has signed with his usual classic, big, and bold signature. The cut autograph has been encapsulated and has a PSA Certified Auto Grade of Mint 9.
