This multi-signed Official National League (Frick) baseball is highlighted by a beautiful Mel Ott signature sitting alone on a side panel, which allows it to display as a superb Mel Ott single. Ott's signature, scripted in black fountain pen, is the strongest on the ball and grades 7/10. The remaining signatures on the ball, also scripted in black fountain pen, are those of Joe DiMaggio (sweet spot), Dolph Camilli, Arch McDonald (baseball announcer), and Red Barber (baseball announcer). PSA has graded the ball EX 5 overall (signatures grade EX 5; ball grades EX 5). It should be noted that when PSA grades the signatures on a multi-signed ball, the final grade represents the average. As previously mentioned, and as one can plainly see, the Ott signature stands out as the finest of the five on the ball. Mel Ott single-signed balls are scarce due to his early death in 1958 at the age of forty-nine. As a result, he remains the "toughest" single of all the 500 Home Run Club members.
